Pokémon SoulSilver Version ROM is a remake of one of the second installments in the Pokémon Main RPG Series, Pokémon Silver Version. The player is a new Pokémon Trainer who has been sent to the area of Johto to meet up with Pokémon Researcher Professor Elm at his laboratory to receive his/her first Pokémon. When the player is running an errand on behalf of Elm, he or she returns to find that one of the professor Pokémon has been stolen by a thief. This event starts your quest to becoming a Pokémon master, leading you through the region of Johto and later Kanto, to battle the mysterious Team Rocket and capture all 493 Pokémon. Along with retaining most of the original game’s features, SoulSilver contains quite a few new updates.

Graphics have also been enhanced to 3D models in order to mimic the series that previous Nintendo DS models, Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, followed. The ability to have any one of your Pokémon following you on the Overworld Screen which was limitedly seen in Pokémon Yellow has been added. Along with the game is a peripheral called the Pokéwalker. The Pokéwalker, which functions as a pedometer, enables you to wirelessly transfer a Pokémon you have in SoulSilver to it. When there is a Pokémon in the Pokéwalker it gains “experience points” for each step you take. The player also receives a type of currency called watts and it is used to assist in catching other Pokémon and purchase items.
