On the opening page of Ogu and the Secret Forest ROM, they won’t have much to make things easy to push past obstacles, except they’ll be able to run as fast as their furry legs go, and they’ll have a bug net on which to swing around. True, this makeshift weapon will do the job when it comes to trash monsters and grass needing cutting, but there are many abilities and items you’ll need to locate all of the important pieces and bops you need to succeed.

It’s a very deliberate art style, out of the realm of the typical indie platformer that’s pixel-art, and it feels like it’s hand-painted. Lush foliage, rich color schemes, and detailed, character models make for a sense of wonder and immersion.
